About Me

As member of the New Zealand Professional Fly-Fishing Guide Association since its inception, my life-long experience on Nelson-Motueka-Marlborough rivers gives me an edge. Whether you are a seasoned angler, a novice, or need extra care, I’m serious about you catching trout, but not so serious as to take the joy out of fishing.

I don’t walk for miles, but simply read the river and put you in the best position for success. With my knowledge of entomology, we use my own hand-tied flies. I choose the right fly for the moment. I’m patient and keen to work at your skill level.

I keep things simple, always encouraging you toward better fishing. There’s so much more to guiding than throwing hooks at fish. Good guiding means humor and fun along the way. And while guiding is a “team sport,” a day of guided fishing my way is all about you.
